With models predicting the COVID-19 virus will not peak in Iowa until around May 1, a long-time popular fundraiser is joining the rest of the country and moving their gathering to the digital realm. President of Kuemper Catholic Schools, John Steffes, says the Saturday, May 2 Kuemper Ball will still take place.
The Friends of Kuemper Ball co-chairs look forward to bringing the Kuemper community, locally and from around the nation, together for the Roaring Twenties’ celebration. Steffes says they have some great guest speakers lined up for the program as well.
The popular vehicle, ag and general raffles will also be taking place.
Raffle tickets are still available and are $100 for a chance to win a $20,000 voucher for a vehicle from one of six local auto dealers; $50 for a chance at a $10,000 ag voucher from one of three Carroll retailers; and $15 for a variety of different items in the general raffle. These can be purchased online or a check and order can be mailed in. Those must be in the office no later than Friday, May 1. A link to the online site and the address for mailed orders can be found below. A link to the Facebook page for updates and to join the ball on Saturday, May 2 can also be found here. Organizers say they are working on ways people can share their virtual ball experience and participate in the “Ball Blitz,” where donations are made during the live program.
