Carroll Council To Discuss Waiver Of Utility Payment Penalties And Rec Center Fee Reimbursement Monday

The Carroll City Council meeting scheduled for Monday, April 13 will again be closed to the general public, but they can attend by telephone, computer, tablet or smartphone. Those interested can watch live on the city’s YouTube channel in a view-only option. Details on how to access the meeting are included below. There are several routine items in the consent agenda to open the meeting at 5:15 p.m., including the replacement of mobile data terminals for the Carroll Police Department, a water main easement at St. Anthony Regional Hospital and street lighting on Westridge Drive. City Manager, Mike Pogge-Weaver, says the inclusion of a multi-jurisdictional hazard mitigation plan is timely, but also a piece of routine business for the city.

Two public hearings on the plans, specifications and estimated costs will be held for water main replacements and a new water supply well. The water main work is routine, but the new well comes as a result of issues with an existing one.

Two items on Monday’s agenda are directly related to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and the impact it is having on some residents. The first—utilities.

Pogge-Weaver says if a resident is having trouble paying their utility bills, they should contact the city directly and work with them to determine payment options. The council will also discuss the waiver of fees at the Carroll Rec Center.
