Coon Rapids Man Sentenced To Probation On Drug Possession Charge

A Coon Rapids man has had a five-year prison sentence suspended on a drug possession charge. Forty-nine-year-old Lynn Allen Frohlich was instead sentenced to three years of probation Thursday on a charge of possession of a controlled substance, third or subsequent offense, a class D felony. In exchange for a guilty plea, a second controlled substance charge was dismissed by the courts. Though the fines and surcharges of more than $1,000 were suspended, Frolich has been ordered to pay an amount that could add up to more than $900 in a combination of law enforcement initiatives, court and medical assistance costs, victim compensation and room and board for time served at the Carroll County jail. The charges stemmed from a Jan. 24, 2019 incident in which methamphetamine was found at his residence during the execution of search warrant by the Coon Rapids Police Department.
