Dates Set For Area Courts To Resume, Starting In June

Even though the offices of staff members of the Second Judicial District in Iowa are not open to the public, those employees are still working behind those closed doors. Late this week, Chief Judge, Kurt Wilke, notified district members that they will remain closed to the public until June 1. They are to continue using electronic communications as much as possible, only handling emergencies for customers in person when it becomes necessary. A schedule for the re-opening of in-person courts has also been detailed. As of now, criminal, non-jury courts will reopen June 1 and civil, non-jury on June 15. Criminal jury in-person court activities will resume July 31 and Aug. 1 has been set as the date for those designated civil jury. The Second Judicial District includes the area counties of Carroll, Calhoun, Greene and Sac.
