For the first time in the nearly 40-year history of the Friends of Kuemper Ball, the event was held entirely online Saturday evening due to the COVID-19 pandemic and still managed to raise over $535,000. The winner of the always popular $20,000 vehicle raffle, sponsored by Macke Motors, Wittrock Motors, Motor Inn, Champion Ford, Team Auto Group and New Way Ford, was Brian Hoffman of Breda. The $10,000 ag raffle, sponsored by Haley Equipment, Rueter’s Red Power and Van Wall Equipment, was claimed by Russ Pudenz. The money raised during the 2020 ball will be used to fund teacher salary enhancements, capital projects, technology initiatives and much more.
