The Carroll Fire Department is still expecting to take receipt of their new fire truck in mid-May, and is now working to outfit it with some unattached equipment. Fire Chief, Greg Schreck, says they need to add two Scott X3 Pro 2018 breathing air-paks. Per City of Carroll policy, Schreck says he contacted three suppliers for quotes as the total cost will exceed $10,000. These included Feld Fire of Carroll, Clarey’s Safety Equipment of Rochester, Minn. And MES of Fremont, Neb.

Schreck says their air-paks are about 15 years old and there are six in need of repair.

Schreck has also applied for a FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency) grant to help offset the costs of replacement. The fire truck purchase was under budget, so Schreck says the funding to pay for the two new air-paks will come from that debt service amount.
