The Storm Lake Police Department went about protecting the public in a different manner than usual last week after handing out hundreds of free facemasks to residents. Operation Mask-Up began in the Storm Lake High School parking lot at 10 a.m. on Thursday, April 30, with officers and representatives from Tyson Foods in Storm Lake, which donated nearly 500 masks, distributed approximately 1,000 reusable cloth face coverings and $500 in Storm Lake bucks to community members. Officer, Jason Feather, says “One of our priorities as police officers is to serve and protect our community. We want the community to know that we will work together to get through these difficult times.”
