Democratic U.S. Senate Debate Will Air Live Without An Audience

Although there will be four Democratic candidates for the U.S. Senate taking part in a televised debate, there will be no audience in attendance. Iowa PBS has scheduled an Iowa Press debate on Monday, May 18 in Johnston, but the hour-long event will abide by the physical distancing guidelines. The 8 p.m. program will be aired live on Iowa PBS and streamed on iowapbs.org, YouTube and Facebook. Candidates participating include Michael T. Franken of Sioux City, Kimberly Graham of Indianola, Theresa Greenfield of Des Moines and Eddie Mauro of Des Moines. They will answer questions and discuss their platforms and plans for the future of Iowa and the nation. Host of Iowa Press, David Yepsen, will moderate and he will be joined by News Director of Radio Iowa, Kay Henderson. The debate precedes the upcoming June 2 primary.
