The Carroll Police Department responded to two accidents that occurred less than 15 minutes apart on Wednesday morning. The first call came in at approximately 11:37 a.m. about a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of U.S. Highway 30 and Grant Road. Fifty-year-old David Stuhr of Carroll was westbound on 30 in a U.S. Postal vehicle. He proceeded through a green light, but was struck by a southbound 2007 Ford Mustang, driven by 17-year-old Caleb Brincks of Port St. Lucie, Fla. The car struck the passenger side of the postal vehicle, totaling it. There was disabling damage done to the Mustang and Brincks was cited for failure to obey a traffic control device. The second incident occurred at approximately 11:51 a.m. at the intersection of Clark and Third Street. Twenty-year-old Daniel Miller of Carroll was southbound on Clark Street in a 2005 Chevrolet Malibu. Twenty-year-old Lauren Stork, also of Carroll, was northbound on Clark in a 2008 Pontiac Torrent and attempted to turn left onto 3rd Street. Stork told officers she did not see the oncoming vehicle and turned in front of it. There was functional damage reported to the car and SUV and Stork was cited for failure to yield on a left turn.
