Luke LeRoy Gregory, age 51, of Scranton, IA, passed away on Wednesday, May 6, 2020 at St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll.
A private family funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Monday, May 11, 2020 at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Glidden with Rev. Darin Seaman officiating.
There will be a public procession from the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Glidden to the Scranton Township Cemetery at 1:30 P.M. on Monday, May 11, 2020 where there will be a public graveside service. Those in attendance at the cemetery are asked to abide by Covid-19 social distancing guidelines. Casket bearers will be Tom Weber, Chris Wallace, Tim Ball, Derek Seaman, Bill Wegner, and Tom Grote.

Born on September 23, 1968 in Jefferson, IA, he was the son of Raymond and Betty (Harper) Gregory. Luke grew up on his family’s farm north of Ralston and graduated from Glidden – Ralston High School in 1988. He attended the Iowa Central Community College where he earned a degree in Liberal Arts graduating in 1991. Following college he worked construction and later for West Central Cooperative in Ralston for many years. Luke also drove truck for Bar-Nun Transportation as an over the road driver for several years. While growing up, Luke was active in 4-H and FFA. He was a member of the Ralston and Scranton Volunteer Fire Departments. Luke had a kind heart and didn’t know a stranger. He loved all things farming, Iowa State and UNI Football, and spoiling his nieces and nephews. He was famous for his egg rolls.
Luke is survived by his father Raymond Gregory of Scranton, IA; his siblings: Lynette Manusos of Polk City, IA, Gwen Sharp (Scott) of Johnston, IA, Elizabeth Gregory of Ames, IA, and Jeremy Gregory (Beth) of Woodward, IA; six nieces and nephews: Kelsey, Taylor, Bailey, Haley, Carter, and Lane; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Luke was preceded in death by his mother Betty Gregory in 2017 and his grandparents.
