One of the busiest weekends of the year in Lake View will see the majority of events cancelled or postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Lake View’s 2020 Memorial Day activities, including the annual service, are not going to be held, but the American Legion Post #133 will still be placing crosses on all military graves at Ferguson Cemetery this Friday, May 22. One event is still scheduled, the city-wide garage sales will run from Friday through Monday and maps are available at local businesses. The Iowa Department of Natural Resources (DNR) was able to open campgrounds in time for the holiday weekend, but occupancy is being cut and services limited. Most campgrounds will only allow campers to occupy every other space in order to adhere to social distancing guidelines. If you are planning to camp this weekend, you are encouraged to call ahead to the campground for more details on their current rules and regulations.
