Two Storm Lake Men Charged With Robbery Following Incident Involving A Paintball Gun

Two Storm Lake men have been charged with armed robbery after an alleged incident involving a paintball gun on Saturday evening. The Storm Lake Police Department was dispatched to the 1300 block of Seneca Street in Storm Lake following a report from the victim. According to authorities, two males with a rifle had approached the victim, demanded cash and threatened to kill them if they did not comply. The suspects fled the scene in a vehicle, which was later located by law enforcement in the 800 block of Lake Avenue. Officers identified the individuals as 18-year-old John Yalle and 18-year-old Malga Yanga. Authorities located a rifle-style paintball gun from their vehicle, and the two men were taken into custody without incident. Yalle is charged with second-degree robbery, a class C felony, and first-degree harassment, an aggravated misdemeanor. He was booked into the Buena Vista County jail on a $13,000 bond. Yanga was also charged with second-degree robbery and held on a $10,000 bond. The Buena Vista County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene.
