Landus Cooperative Opening Up Guest Wi-Fi For Rural Residents

In an effort to assist area residents with the ability to communicate digitally, Landus Cooperative has begun offering use of their guest Wi-Fi. So far, 10 locations will allow access in their parking lots for those wanting to connect with friends and relatives, to keep up on their school work, visit with their healthcare provider through telehealth services and participate in other online activities. In this area, Landus sites in Bayard and Manilla have allowed access and more will be announced in the coming weeks. “Broadband internet access during these times is critical for learning, access to health information and for connecting virtually with our family and friends,” says Landus CEO, Matt Carstens. “We are excited to share free Wi-Fi with our rural communities so all of our neighbors can access the digital resources they need and want. We know high-speed, quality internet access is critical to the success of rural America, our farmer-owners and this cooperative.” Those wishing to utilize the Wi-Fi can access it in the parking lot from their vehicle from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Landus is asking that everyone adhere to social distancing guidelines and remain in their vehicle while using the service. Users will not be granted access to Landus facilities. This initiative is part of a larger, Land O’ Lakes, Inc. effort. Land O’ Lakes is a member-owned co-op spanning rural America and Landus Cooperative is a member.
