It is not a new one, but a MidAmerican Energy scam is again being reported in our area. Victims have contacted regional authorities about receiving recorded calls stating their services will be disconnected unless payment is received. MidAmerican Energy is working with cyber security experts in an attempt to get the calls stopped; but they do confirm these are not legitimate requests for payment. If you receive such a call, simply hang up. Never give out any personally identifying information and if you have questions, you should contact MidAmerican directly by using any of the methods they detail on your bill.
