Carroll County Voters Still Have Two Options Available To Cast Ballot In June 2 Primary

Absentee voting in the June 2 Primary has already topped comparable activity in previous years with an estimate of more than 3,000 ballots mailed out. For those who missed that mailing deadline there are still two options for casting a vote. Absentee ballots are available at the Carroll County Auditor’s Office and can be picked up outside their office window at the drive on the north side of the courthouse. Absentee ballots can be cast until 5 p.m. on Monday, June 1. The COVID-19 pandemic has had a dramatic impact on the planning and execution of in-person voting as the majority of polling location volunteers are those who fall into the highest-risk categories for more significant symptoms of the virus. This situation has resulted in the creation of a single Primary polling location for the entirety of Carroll County. Polls at the First United Methodist Church at 1621 N. Main Street in Carroll will open at 7 a.m. and close at 9 p.m. Anyone voting in the Primary must declare a party, either Republican or Democrat. Voters will also be required to show a valid form of identification. Those who cannot show an approved ID may have their identity attested by another, registered voter. Anyone with questions is encouraged to contact the Auditor’s Office at 792-9802. Carroll Broadcasting will provide reports on area election results online and on-air Tuesday, June 2 following the closing of polls at 9 p.m.
