In accordance with the proclamation made by Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds on May 26, Wild Rose Casino and Resort in Jefferson will reopen today (Monday). Doors open at 10 a.m. with a plan to operate from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 10 a.m. to midnight on Fridays and Saturdays. President and COO, Tom Timmons, says the entire team is working hard to ensure that customers and players are welcomed back with protective measures in place. “These are extraordinary and unprecedented times, and our casinos—like most businesses in Iowa—are adapting to the new normal,” Timmons says. “Our guests will be able to play slot games, place wagers on sports and dine together, but we have implemented a number of measures aimed at protecting our guests and employees.” Table games are closed at this time and that decision will be re-evaluated as guidelines change. Only select slot machines will be operational and dividers will be used in certain areas. The Wild Rose Draft Kings Sportsbook will not be open, but bets can be placed at the kiosk or with the cashier. No promotions, special events or concerts will take place at this time. Employees and guests are being encouraged to wear masks, although it is not mandatory. Masks will be supplied for those wishing to wear them. Timmons adds the entire facility has been deep cleaned and sanitized and the diligence used in that effort will continue as they open. “When a guest is done playing a game, the slot system will use proprietary technology to notify crews that it needs to be cleaned and sanitized.” Coaches Corner restaurant will open with the distancing and capacity guidelines in place, but there will be no buffets or salad bars.
