Unofficial primary results are in for local races from Calhoun County with 100 percent of the precincts reporting. For District 10 State Representive, Mike Sexton was unchallenged and received 1,104 votes with 10 write-in ballots tallied. In the Republican District 1 Supervisor race, Scott Becker claimed the party’s nomination with 242 votes compared to 154 for Gary Birkey. In District 3, Republican incumbent, Carl Legore was unchallenged with 423 votes. As for County Sheriff, Patrick Riley will take the Republican nomination with 1,145 votes over Scott Anderson, who had only 48. These results may not include pending absentee ballots and will not become official until canvassed by the Calhoun County Board of Supervisors. Statewide results can be found at sos.iowa.gov.
