The unofficial results for the Carroll County Primary Election are in with all 13 precincts reporting. 3,167 ballots were cast with 1,725 of those Republican and 1,442 Democrat. In the contested race, the Democratic Senate race had five candidates vying to go on the November ballot against Republican Senator, Joni Ernst. Theresa Greenfield won out in Carroll County with 675 votes to 350 for Michael Franken, 205 for Eddie Mauro, 128 for Kimberly Graham and 17 for Cal Woods. Republicans Craig Williams of Manning and Heath Hansen of Audubon were on the Primary ballot for the State Senate District 6 seat. Williams swept Carroll County with 1,237 votes to Hansen’s 321. And the District 4 Congressional race was a crowded field on the Republican side with five candidates. Steve King won out in Carroll County with 864 votes followed by Randy Feenstra at 504, Bret Richards at 190, Jeremy Taylor with 62 and Steven Reeder with 52.
