Greene County voters cast a total of 1,513 ballots in the Primary Election, 850 of those Republican and 663 Democratic. In the contested races, the seven districts in Greene County cast the most votes for Republican Theresa Greenfield for the U.S. Senate race. She garnered 312 votes to Michael Franken’s 222, Kimberly Graham’s 58, Eddie Maruo’s 53 and Cal Wood’s five. Republican Incumbent, Steve King, got the nod in Greene County with 366 votes. Randy Feenstra tallied 255, Bret Richards 130, Jeremy Taylor 43 and Steven Reeder 37. Democrats and Republicans alike in Greene County got to select their candidate for the District 24 State Senate seat. On the Republican side it was a close race. Jesse Green received 234 votes, Chad Behn 212, Todd Rasmussen 207 and Joshua Dyer 131. And on the Democratic side, Cynthia Oppedal Paschen received 380 votes and Keith Puntenney 179.
