It is still not clear if one of Audubon’s largest events of the summer, Operation T-Bone, will occur this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The planning committee met Tuesday evening to discuss possibly canceling the event and to consider what changes would need to be made if it were to be held. Following a lengthy conversation, they have decided there are too many unknowns at this time to decide yet and have scheduled another meeting for Monday, June 15 to make the final determination. T-Bone Days, which is generally held the first weekend in August is a multi-day celebration of the community’s strong ties to the beef industry and includes community meals, figure-eight races, parades and many other activities that make physical distancing difficult. This year would mark the 70th year Operation T-Bone has been held in Audubon. A formal decision is expected to be announced on Tuesday, June 16.
