Three Motor Vehicle Accidents Reported In Lake View Over The Weekend

The Lake View Police Department responded to three separate motor vehicle accidents over the weekend. The first occurred at approximately 9:50 p.m. Saturday at the intersection of Highway 175 and 3rd Street. Initial reports show a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee, driven by 21-year-old Hanna Danyal Knudson of Irwin, was traveling northbound on 3rd Street at a high rate of speed and failed to stop for the posted stop sign. Knudson struck the signpost and entered the intersection, colliding with an eastbound 2014 Dodge Dart, driven by 20-year-old Jordan Alan Werner of Sac City. Werner and his passenger, 19-year-old Madison Schirenbeck, were transported by Sac County Emergency Medical Services for treatment of suspected injuries. Both vehicles were totaled in the accident. Knudson was cited for failure to obey a stop sign and first-offense operating while intoxicated, a serious misdemeanor. Charges against Werner are pending the return of lab results. The second accident occurred at approximately 11:54 a.m. Sunday. According to law enforcement, 21-year-old Trevor David Popp of Denison was traveling southbound on Crescent Park Drive in a 2018 Ford Fusion and lost control of the vehicle, striking a parked skid loader. Popp was cited for failure to maintain control. The final accident also occurred Sunday at approximately 1:08 p.m. at the intersection of Main and 5th Streets. Twenty-two-year-old Damion Paul Logue of Lake View was traveling eastbound in a 2010 Chevrolet Cobalt on 5th when he reached for an object inside his vehicle and left the roadway, colliding with a legally parked 2011 Dodge Caravan, owned by Michael Stargell of Lake View. Damage is estimated at $3,500 to the Logue vehicle and $8,500 to the van.  Logue was cited for failure to maintain control and striking an unattended vehicle.
