Trial information was filed Monday in District Court for Carroll County against a Lake City man accused of an assault in Breda. According to court records, the incident occurred during the early morning hours of Sunday, May 31. An affidavit from the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office says 50-year-old Jared William Mohr approached the victim and a friend at approximately 3:01 a.m. and became aggressive. The victim attempted to push Mohr away to gain separation, and that is when he allegedly punched the victim in the jaw with a closed fist and attempted to choked them. Mohr has been charged with assault with intent to inflict serious injury, an aggravated misdemeanor. His arraignment hearing is scheduled for Thursday, June 25. An aggravated misdemeanor carries a maximum penalty of two years in prison and $6,250 in fines.
