Wild Rose Casino in Jefferson has now re-opened table games. Effective last Friday, players were able to take one of the three seats available at each gaming table to place their bets. The spacing is to allow for social distancing and all players are asked to wear a mask and use hand sanitizer before sitting down. Dealers are also wearing masks. Craps tables remain closed. “We are adding table games in compliance with the Governor’s most recent proclamation and with guidance from the Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission as well as the DCI,” says Tom Timmons, President of Wild Rose Entertainment. “There is definitely a learning curve for all of us right now as we move from an extended closure to re-opening and operating with social distancing and safety in mind.” Wild Rose re-opened their three Iowa casinos on June 1, after a 75-day state-mandated closure as the result of the COVID-19 pandemic. The company purposely phased in the re-opening, first allowing slot games and sports wagering at the casino kiosks. Wild Rose Clinton opened its Draft Kings Sports Book and off-track betting (OTB) on June 1 to allow guests to make pari-mutual wagers.
