Carroll County Public Health has released an update, saying the county is following trends seen throughout the state in which those in the 18 to 40 age bracket are contracting COVID-19 at an “exponentially higher rate” with those in the 41 to 60 age range right behind. As of Wednesday morning, Carroll County has 57 positive cases and Public Health continues to stress that as businesses reopen and organizations schedule events, it is more important than ever to practice safety measures. A link to an interview with Public Health Nurse, Sara Schulte, on this topic can be found through the link included below. Carroll County has had 1,180 tested with a 4.8 percent positive rate and one reported death. In the listening area, Crawford County climbs to 623 positive cases, Guthrie to 60, Sac 39, Calhoun remains at 24, Greene goes up to 23 and Audubon holds steady at 14. As of 11 a.m. Wednesday, there are 24,379 positive cases in Iowa and 671 deaths. More details are available at coronavirus.iowa.gov. A new testing site is now open at St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll and at the St. Anthony Clinic in Denison. To get tested through these sites, you must first fill out an assessment at testiowa.com, where you will then be directed to the appropriate testing site.
