Harlan At Kuemper
Harlan 10
Kuemper 0 (7 Innings)
Harlan scored just 4 runs in their season opening win over St Albert on Monday night so you had to wonder if the bats would come to life against Kuemper. They did just that as the Cyclones scored runs in each of the first 4 innings and led 5-0 heading into the 7th. They would finish with 9 hits but did a nice job of keeping the pressure on Kuemper. Meanwhile Emily Brouse made her first start of the season and struck out 7 of the first 10 batters she faced before she was pulled after 4 innings.
Kenzie Schon was the only Knight to pick up a hit against Brouse when she singled in the 2nd. The Knights only advanced 2 runners to 2nd base as they finished with 4 hits. Schon went 1-3, Kamryn Venner added a 1-2 night and walked in the 4th, Kynday Hilgenberg singled in the 6th and Haley Ostrander had a nice 0-2 single in the 5th.
Harlan added 5 runs in the 7th on just 1 hit as the Knights committed 3 errors. Tianna Kasperbauer teamed with Brouse to fan 11 batters.
Kuemper will look to bounce back on Friday when they travel to Boone.

The Tigers out hit Ballard 10 to 6 but couldn’t string enough hits together to get a rally going after the 3rd. Hannah Jorgensen, Chloe Gallegos, Makalei Kofron and Brielle Hinners all had 2 hits. Ashley Onken added a home run and finished 13. Sydney Haakenson took the loss but pitched well just missing on a 3-2 pitch in the 6th on the home run.
