Troy Brown, 53, of Le Mars, Iowa, passed away Tuesday, June 16, 2020 at his home in Le Mars surrounded by his family.
Celebration of Life Service with social distancing will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 20, 2020 at Rexwinkel Funeral Home in Le Mars. Pastor Luke Cargin and Chaplain Caleb Winey will officiate. Visitation with social distancing will be from 10:00 a.m. until service time on Saturday at the funeral home. Arrangements are with the Rexwinkel Funeral Home in Le Mars. Troy Richard Brown was born January 9, 1967 in Harlan, Iowa, the son of Gary and Donna (Majerus) Brown. He attended school in Harlan, Algona, and Carroll. He graduated from Carroll High School in 1985. Following high school, he went to work for Hy-Vee in Carroll in the Bakery Department.
He was united in marriage to Michelle Fiscus on January 4, 1986 in Glidden, Iowa. The couple made their home in Carroll before moving to Merrill, Iowa in 2002. Troy continued working for Hy-Vee, having worked in several stores. In 2005, he went to work for Wells’ Dairy in Le Mars. In 2008, he began driving truck for several trucking companies, most recently, Schuster Trucking in Le Mars. He retired in November 2019 due to complications from A.L.S.
He enjoyed camping, watching NASCAR, and traveling, especially to Sanibel Island in Florida. Most of all, he loved the time spent with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Michelle of Le Mars, Iowa; 5 children: Trent (Mariah) Brown of Le Mars, IA, Megan (Nicholas) Topf of McCook Lake, SD, Miranda (Josh) DeLarm of Boone, IA, Madilyn Brown (fiancé, Logan Veen-Strege) of Moville, IA, and Meredith Brown of Le Mars, IA; 8 grandchildren: Maxwell, Alice, Melody, Norah, Emmet, MaKena, Leo, and Evelyn; his parents, Gary and Donna Brown of Carroll, IA; his father and mother in law, Delbert and Marilyn Fiscus of Carroll, IA; his siblings: Todd (Deb) Brown of Lebanon, IN, and Tiffany (Skip) Winey of Perry, IA; a sister in law, Deb Fiscus of Carroll, IA; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, John and Annie Brown; his maternal grandparents, Tony and Lillian Majerus; and his sister, Tamara Brown.
