Carroll County Enters Into Three-Year Contract For Mandated Auditing Services

A contract for auditing services was recently approved by the Carroll County Board of Supervisors. Supervisor, Neil Bock, says Cost Advisory Services details how some of the county money is spent and ensures it is allocated correctly. County Auditor, Kourtney Irlbeck, adds they do recover a lot of money from the state, who pays for part of their Department of Human Services (DHS) programs.

Bock says this function is mandated by the state, but the method of how it is completed is not. The majority of counties utilize this one company.

The three-year contract is written for $4,125 per year. Bock says he is happy with that amount.

Irlbeck details the functions Cost Advisory Services will go through on an annual basis to identify actual costs extended by the county and create a plan for allowable costs for each supported service.

The motion to approve the three-year contract passed on a unanimous vote.
