Audubon scheduled was loaded with challenges in the opening week and the Wheelers did a nice job finishing the week at 2-3. They fell at Denison on Saturday giving up a 3-run 5th inning. Jackson Jensen took the loss going 6 strong innings giving up just 4 hits and 2 earned runs. He struck out 8 and only walked 2. The Wheeler offense has struggled to consistently get hits this week against some quality pitching and managed just 2 against Denison Schleswig and Jack Mendlik.
Derek Porsch went 1-3 and Aiden Alt was 1-1 in the loss. Ethan Klocke was hit by a pitch and Braden Wessel reached on an error and stole a base.
