Kuemper had a nice rally and a bit 6th inning that set up a fantastic finish in the 10th to give the Knights a 3-2 overall record. Both teams scored twice in the 1st inning but Lewis Central added 2 more in the 3rd and led it 5-3 heading into the 6th. The Knights erupted for 5 runs in their half of the inning. Kenadee Loew started the rally with a single, followed by a Kiley Trecker double. Jordan Schwabe worked out a 1 out walk to load the bases. Hailey Ostrander then singled to score Loew and Kenzie Schon doubled to score, Trecker, Schwabe and Ostrander. Schon would score the final run to give the Knights a 8-5 lead on a Brianna Lux single.
Lewis Central answered with 3 runs in the bottom of the 6th to tie the game. It stayed that way until the 9th when both teams scored a run. Loew again started things with a double, she moved to 3rd on a Trecker sac bunt and then scored on Schwabe hit. Kenzie Schon hit a home run in the 10th and Kuemper held firm on defense to pick up the win.
Schon, Lux, Kamryn Venner and Loew all had 3 hits, Kyndal Hilgenberg, Schwabe and Ostrander all had 2 hits. The Knights pounded out 20 hits in the win.
Kuemper will host Atlantic for a varsity double header starting at 5:30 at the little league complex.

IKM-Manning had a game slip away on Monday giving up 3 runs in the bottom of the 7th with only one of those runs earned. The loss drops them to 1-4 overall while LoMa moves to 3-1. The Wolves jumped out early scoring 4 in the 1st and 3 more in the 2nd. They were in command until LoMa scored 2 in the bottom of the 5th to make it 8-6. That helped set up the rally in the 7th.
Bianca Cadwell had a very good night at the plate going 3-3 with a double and 2 RBI. Her three hits were half of the Wolves hits. They used 9 walks and a hit by pitch to keep pressure on the Panther defense early. Lexi Branning, Mya Doyle and Jessica Christensen added hits.
The Wolves return to action on Tuesday as they host Treynor.

A slow start doomed the Raiders on Monday night as they fell down 5-0 in the 1st and were down 8-1 after the 2nd inning. The loss drops them to 1-4 overall and 1-2 in the Twin Lakes Conference.
Bree Boeckman led off the 2nd inning with a home run. The Raiders cut it to 8-4 in the 3rd and tried to rally again in the 6th. Meredith Brown had a bunt single, Maty Quirk added an RBI walk and Mary Bontrager drove in a run with a single. East Sac trailed 9-6 at that point and had the bases loaded but couldn’t squeeze another run across the board. Sioux Central added 3 runs in the bottom of the 6th.
The Raiders will be back in action on Tuesday at Carroll on KIKD 106.7.

It was a tough road loss for the Rockets on Monday. The young team stranded 10 runners on base including 3 in the 1st inning when they could have built a lead. They left 1 runner on in the 7th and Boyer Valley got a run in the bottom half to end the game.
Ar-We-Va took a 1-0 lead in the top of the 1st as Hannah Kraus picked up one of her two hits and scored on a RBI by Jadeyn Smith. Smith finished the game with 3 hits including a double. Kraus also doubled while Kora Obrecht picked up the other two area hits. Smith took the loss but pitched well giving up just 6 hits and 1 earned run in 7 innings. She struck out 7.
The Rockets travel to East Sac on Thursday night.

Coon Rapids Bayard continued to struggle at the plate, picking up just 6 hits while CAM Anita pounded out 14 hits and scored 10 earned runs. The Crusaders slip to 0-6 and will look to gain some confidence on Wednesday when they travel to Woodbine.
Alaya Betts and Cassidy Baker each nabbed a pair of hits. Alexa Culbertson singled picking up their only RBI. Emma Hart and Baker scored the two runs.

Leah Subbert led the Wheeler offensive attack with 2 hits as the Wheelers struggled to get the offense going falling to 4-3 on the season. Jordan Porsch, Katelyn Nielsen and Mallory Riebhoff had the other three hits. Subbert and Porsch both had doubles. Nielsen hit scored Porsch for their lone run in the 3rd inning.
Missouri Valley had the offense rolling and found ways to score 11 runs on just 7 hits and 2 walks. Kali Irlmeier took the loss giving up 5 hits and 6 earned runs in 3 innings.
The Wheelers will host LoMa on Tuesday.
