A Lake City Man charged with assault in Carroll County District Court has been scheduled for trial in September. According to court records, 50-year-old Jared William Mohr filed his written not guilty plea to one count of assault with intent to inflict serious injury, an aggravated misdemeanor, on Wednesday. An affidavit from the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office alleges Mohr approached the victim and a friend at approximately 3:01 a.m. on May 31 in Breda and allegedly punched the victim in the jaw with a closed fist and attempted to choke them. His jury trial is scheduled for Sept. 15 with a pretrial conference slated for Sept. 10. An aggravated misdemeanor carries a maximum penalty of up to two years in prison and $6,250 in fines.
