The Titans challenged themselves in the non-conference on Thursday traveling to take on undefeated Algona. Though they fell and dropped to 2-3 on the season, Head Coach John Kennedy was really pleased with the defensive effort and felt Hallee Maulsby pitched well. The Titan defense had no errors and made good plays on several balls that were hit hard. Sayer Steig made a nice running catch on a ball in the gap. Sally Musselman and Brielle Korleski made a nice play on a ball that had bounced off Maulsby glove.
The Titans had five hits with Emma Geno singling twice. Musselman, Madison Schultz, and Kortney Riley all had singles. Maulsby went 6 innings giving up just 5 hits and 3 runs while striking out 6.
South Central Calhoun is back in action on Friday night as they host SE Valley.
