One vehicle was totaled and another sustained an estimated $5,000 in damages in an accident Thursday in Jefferson. Officers with the Jefferson Police Department responded to the intersection of West Madison and South Walnut Streets at approximately 1:53 p.m. Angel Lowmiller was westbound on West Madison in a GMC Acadia. Matthew Spaulding of Perry was northbound on South Walnut in a Ford Focus. The vehicles met at the uncontrolled intersection and the Acadia struck the Focus on the passenger side. No injuries were reported, but Spaulding was cited for failure to yield to a vehicle on the right and driving while suspended.
