A Driver Trying To Pass On City Street Cited In Tuesday Accident

A driver attempting to pass on a Carroll city street has been cited after being involved in an accident Tuesday afternoon. The Carroll Police Department responded at approximately 12:16 p.m. to the 900 block of N. East Street. Sixty-six-year-old Robert Snyder of Carroll was southbound on East Street in a 1999 GMC Sierra, but was driving in the northbound lane because of parked cars on the west side of the road. Another vehicle was northbound, and Snyder pulled back to the southbound lane and stopped to allow this vehicle to drive through. Another southbound vehicle, a 2004 Chevrolet Impala, driven by 19-year-old Johnny Crosby of Carroll, attempted to pass Snyder, but when he saw the oncoming vehicle he swerved back into the southbound lane, striking the Sierra. No injuries and only functional damage were reported to both vehicles. Crosby was cited for no driver’s license and failure to provide proof of financial liability.
