Sac City’s Chautauqua Days Still On For This Weekend With Some Changes Due To Coronavirus

Sac City’s Chautauqua Days is still on for this weekend, but organizers have made changes to the usual multi-day schedule in response to the coronavirus pandemic. Chamber Main Street Executive Director, Haley Davis, says the 2020 celebration runs from Friday through Sunday, July 3 through July 5, with most of the activities happening on Saturday.

Davis adds these schedule changes were made with consideration for the health and safety of attendees and the community. With most of the big activities during Chautauqua Days coinciding with Independence Day, Davis says large crowds are possible. Adjustments have been made to account for this, and attendees are asked to abide by some simple recommendations.

As Chautauqua Days is always held around the Fourth of July, celebrating our nation’s independence has always been incorporated into its planning. That is true this year as well.

Again, attendees are encouraged to practice social distancing whenever possible and to wear a mask when the recommended six-foot spacing between people is not feasible. The full 2020 Chautauqua Days schedule can be found included below.
