Tough loss for the Raiders on Wednesday night as they played well and fell just a little bit short. The Raiders had just 7 hits but scored 6 runs and left two runners on base in the 6th. The rallied from down early to take a 5-3 lead in the 4th. Pocahontas Area started fast and scored 3 in the 1st. The Raiders picked up a run in the 3rd and then scored 4 times in the 4th. Makayla Miller tripled and was followed by a bunt single from Mary Bontrater and 2 RBI double from Maty Quirk and back-to-back RBI singles from Laryn Sharp and Bree Boeckman. The Indians answered with a 3-run 5th inning and held on to win.

Laryn Sharp had two hits, Quirk, Boeckman, Meredith Brown, Miller and Mary Bontrager all had a hit. Quirk had a team high 2 RBI and scored twice.

The Raiders head to South Central Calhoun on Friday.

Chloe Gallegos picked up the lone hit for the Tigers as they fell on the road to the Toreadors. Sydney Haakenson and Camryn Schable combined to give up 9 earned runs while striking out 2.

Carroll travels to Bondurant Farrar on Thursday.

Audubon took a 4-0 lead into the bottom of the 7th and had to hold to pick up the win. The Wheelers extended their lead to 4-0 in the top half of the 7th as Hannah Thygesen walked and Jordan Porsch reached on an error. The two came in to score on a double by Leah Subbert. The insurance runs would be huge in the bottom half of the inning.

The Wheelers scattered 8 eights with Sydney Beymer leading the way with 3 and Kylee Hartl with 2.  Beymer and Subbert each finished with a pair of RBI. Porsch scored twice, she also doubled in the game. Kali Irlmeier went 6 1/3 innings allowing 3 earned runs on 5 hits. Alexis Obermeier finished off the game and gave up a pair of hits in getting the save.

The Wheelers travel to Tri Center on Thursday.

The Rockets started quickly scoring 5 times in the 1st inning but couldn’t hold on and then a late rally fell short. The loss drops them to 1-8 on the season as they get ready to host West Harrison on Friday.

Whiting used a 7-run 3rd inning and 4-run 6th inning to rally and put some separation between them and the Rockets. After Ar-We-Va scored those 5 runs to start the game they added a run in both the 3rd and 4th then scored 3 in the 6th.

They picked up 9 hits including 3 extra base hits. Hannah Kraus had a double and a triple as she went 2-3. Kraus added 3 runs scored. Kora Obrecht and Jadeyn Smith both had a pair of hits. Smith drove in 2 runs and scored twice. Maggie Ragaller had a double and drove in a pair of RBI.

Coon Rapids Bayard had one of their better defensive games of the season which kept them in the game until the end when Grand View scored three runs in the 7th. The Crusaders fell to 2-12 on the season as they head to Glidden Ralston on Friday night on 1380 AM/95.1 FM KCIM.

Miranda Garcia had 2 of the teams 5 hits. Cassidy Baker, Alexa Culbertson and Breely Clayburg added the other singles. Cora McAlister pitched well going 6 innings giving up just 4 earned runs and 3 walks.

Vanessa Koehler hit a grand slam home run but it wasn’t enough as Glidden Ralston dropped a high scoring affair on the road. The Wildcats put together 14 hits with 5 doubles and the Koehler Home Run. They scored five runs in both the 5th and 7th innings. West Harrison won with a pair of big innings. They scored 4 times in the 1st and built a 7-0 lead before it was cut to 7-5 heading into the 6th. The Hawkeyes salted it away with a 7-run 6th. Glidden Ralston rallied again in the 7th and had the tying run in the on deck circle but fell short.

Talia Schon, Macy Snyder, Kim Daily, Allison Barrus and Madi Barrus each had a pair of hits. Vanessa Koehler had a team high 4 RBI. Allison Barrus added 2 RBI.

The Wildcats return home on Friday to host Coon Rapids Bayard on 1380 AM/95.1 FM KCIM.

Kierra Hammen hit her 3rd home run in the last three games  and her and Sally Musselman teamed up to go 5-7 in the top two spots in the order but South Central Calhoun fell short on Wednesday. Sioux Central used a 5-run 3rd inning to build the lead as they went up 6-0. The Titans scored a run in the 4th and 2 more in the 5th but it wasn’t enough. The loss drops them to 3-6.

Hammen finished the game 2-3, with a 2-run home run. Musselman was 3-4 and Brielle Korleski who is starting to swing a hot bat finished 2-3.

The Titans are home on Friday as they host East Sac.
