The COVID-19 pandemic has changed the way we work, interact and play. Religious gatherings and events are no different, and Elder with the Carroll Church of Christ, Virgil Sparks, says they are excited about a solution they have created for their upcoming Vacation Bible School (VBS).
The major difference in 2020, according to Sparks, is the move to a virtual plane.
One of the best features of this year’s program is that the entire family can participate each night.
Sparks says when the Church of Christ suspended services at the onset of the pandemic, they immediately began seeking out options for remaining connected with their parishioners. The church really did not have any video capabilities, but several members stepped up and in the past eight weeks or so, they have been able to learn a great deal, and now have video and livestream capabilities to reach more people and more kids. Sparks says within their theme of “Let’s Be A Light” they want children to understand that when things are dark, they can be a positive influence for Christ–that they can be a light in a troubled world, especially now when families are in need of something familiar to bring relief from the chaos surrounding us this year. Registration is easy, and can be done on Facebook or by calling the Church of Christ. Those contact details are available below.
