The Greene County Fair is set to get underway this week, but it will be a far cry from what attendees are used to seeing at the fairgrounds. The Greene County fair runs from Tuesday, July 7 through Monday, July 13. Board Association President, Connor Juergensen, says they have chosen to pull nearly all the entertainment and grandstand attractions from the schedule due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Juergensen adds the fair is generally one of the highlights of July for Greene County residents, but he expects this year’s events will see far fewer attendees than they are used to having.
He adds hosting a smaller fair with less entertainment in the schedule is obviously a disappointment for everybody involved. However, Juergensen says there is still one can’t-miss item on the agenda.
Again, fairgoers are strongly encouraged to practice social distancing while at the fairgrounds and to wear masks when social distancing is not possible. The full 2020 Greene County fair schedule and fairbook can be found by following the links included with this story on our website.
