Largest Single Day Increase In COVID-19 Positives Since May Was Recorded Late Last Week

This past Friday, the single-day largest increase of COVID-19 positive cases was recorded in the state since May. Friday saw 744 new positive cases, the most since May 26 when there were 796 in a 24-hour period. As of 11 a.m. this (Monday) morning, Iowa has 35,502 positives and 753 deaths since the pandemic began. Of those positive cases, 26,605 are considered recovered. Carroll County has now risen to 116 positives with an additional case under investigation. Carroll County has recorded 91 cases classified as recovered with one death to date. Elsewhere in the region, Crawford County is now at 681 positive cases while Guthrie climbs to 80, Sac to 68, Calhoun to 65, Greene to 31 and Audubon to 18.
