It was the Josie Bontrager show on Monday in Lytton as the senior struck out 7 of 9 batters to start the game. Bontrager finished with a No Hitter with 9 strikeouts and only 1 walk. Only 3 batters made it on base on an error, walk and a fielder’s choice. She struck out the side in the 2nd inning and had two strikeouts in the 1st and 3rd innings. She didn’t allow a runner past 1st base all game. The defense was solid when they had a chance, Aleisha Thayer made a few nice plays at shortstop, Meredith Brown was terrific at 2nd and Maty Quirk made a tough play on a rocket to 3rd in the 7th inning.
The Raider offense made the most of their 7 hits. Maty Quirk went 2-4 with an RBI and a run scored while stealing a pair of bases. She scored the first run of the game on a wild pitch in the 1st inning. East Sac added 2 runs in the 2nd as Meredith Brown and Maci Gustavson singled. Brown stole 2nd and scored on the Gustavson hit. Gustavson took 2nd on the throw and later scored on a squeeze play by Mary Bontrager. The Raiders added a pair in the 6th as Laryn Sharp and Josie Bontrager singled. Sharp scored on an RBI groundout by Mariah Friedrichsen and Emersyn Mack ran for Bontrager and scored on an error at 3rd.
South Central Calhoun received a good pitching performance from Sally Musselman before she had to leave in the 6th after getting hit by a line drive up the middle. Musselman gave up 5 hits and 5 runs in 5 plus innings. She struck out 3 and walked 1. Brielle Korleski reached on an error, Musselman reached on a fielder’s choice and Kinsey Batz walked.
East Sac improves to 7-9 and will play at Emmetsburg on Wednesday on KIKD 106.7 at 7:00. South Central Calhoun season came to an end at 4-11.

Ar-We-Va struck early with 3 runs in the 2nd inning but Glidden Ralston answered back in the bottom half with 2 and then added a run in the 3rd, 4th and 6th inning to advance on to play Audubon At Audubon on 93.7 KKRL on Wednesday.
Hannah Kraus gave the Rockets the lead with a single scoring 3 runs.
Talia Schon homered in the 3rd to tie the game and finished 2-3 with a double as well. Morgan Koehler picked up the win in the circle and was perfect at the plate going 3-3 with a double and 3 RBI. Gretchen Wallace added a double and RBI while scoring twice on 2 hits. Kim Daily was 2-2 and scored.
Glidden Ralston improves to 5-8 while Ar-We-Va ends the season at 1-11.

Jordan Porsch came up with the clutch hit in the bottom of the 7th after 8th grader Mattie Nielsen got on base and moved to 3rd. The single scored Nielsen from 3rd advancing Audubon into a home matchup with Glidden Ralston on Wednesday on 93.7 KKRL.
Audubon had to rally after the Crusaders scored 4 times in the 5th inning to take a 5-2 lead. The Wheelers cut it to 5-4 heading into the 6th. Coon Rapids Bayard added a pair of runs in the 6th to extend their lead to 7-4 but Audubon again answered with 3 in the bottom half to tie the game at 7 heading into the 7th.
Audubon finished with 13 hits with Jordan Porsch and Leah Subbert each with 3. Sydney Beymer and Hannah Thygesen had 2 apiece. Coon Rapids Bayard 10 hits. Alexa Culbertson had 3 hits and 2 RBI. Emma Hart and Breely Clayburg each finished with 2 and an RBI.
The win moves Audubon to 10-8 and the loss ends Coon Rapids Bayard season at 3-16.

One bad inning where the Wolves gave up 5-runs and giving up 7 unearned runs for the game was the difference as IKM-Manning falls and ends their season at 3-11. The Wolves jumped out 3-0 in the 1st inning as Joanna Frees tripled driving in Lexi Branning, Amber Halbur and Zoey Melton. The Wolves held the lead into the 4th when AHSTW scored 5 times to grab the lead. They added 3 more in the 5th.
Amber Halbur led IKM-Manning with 3 hits, Branning and Bianca Cadwell added 2 each. The Wolves had 11 hits total. Bianca Cadwell pitched well giving up 8 hits in 7 innings and only allowed 1 earned run.

Carroll wrapped up the regular season sending a message to their opponent later this week in the opening round of the playoffs that they will be ready to go. The two teams are scheduled to meet on Thursday on 1380 AM/95.1 FM KCIM. Carroll fell down 4-3 after the first two innings before the offense erupted for 4-runs in the 3rd and 5 more in the 4th. They ended the game with a 3-run 5th.
Carroll racked up 16 hits with eight of nine starters having two hits each. Ava Gross tripled and scored twice, Chloe Gallegos doubled and scored, Vanessa Ayala scored twice, and Sydney Haakenson drove in 3 runs as did Hannah Jorgensen and Camryn Schable. Brielle Hinners added 2 RBI. Schable got the win in the circle giving up 3 earned runs on 7 hits with 6 strikeouts.
Carroll finishes up the regular season 6-10 while Denison Schleswig falls to 3-13.
