This past Friday, the single-day largest increase of COVID-19 positive cases was recorded in the state since May. Friday saw 744 new positive cases, the most since May 26 when there were 796 in a 24-hour period. Currently, Iowa has 35,774 positives and 755 deaths since the pandemic began. Of those positive cases, 26,881 are considered recovered. Carroll County reports a total of 116 positives while the state site is reporting 117. This discrepancy is being investigated. Of these, 97 cases in Carroll County are classified as recovered. Crawford County is now at 681 positive cases while Guthrie climbs to 82, Sac to 69, Calhoun to 65, Greene to 31 and Audubon to 18.
