Carroll 10 (8 Innings)
Carroll wrapped up the regular season 7-12 as they suffer another tough close loss. The Dodgers scored an unearned run in the top of the win it after scoring a run in top 7th to tie the game at 10. The Tigers had runners on 2nd and 3rd in the bottom 7th and didn’t score.
The game was low scoring early with each team scoring in the 1st. Carroll added a run in the 2nd and Fort Dodge answered with a run in the 3rd to tie the game at 2. The Dodgers took the lead with a 4th inning run and then added 3-runs in the 5th. Carroll stormed back with a 6-run 5th inning to go ahead 8-6. Ryan Johnston walked with the bases loaded in the 5th and Colby Christensen had an RBI fielder’s choice before Luke Woosley singled driving in a run and Tory Feldman doubled to score two more. Treyton Goins capped the scoring with an RBI single.
Fort Dodge regained a 1 run lead with 3 in the 6th but Carroll again answered in the 6th with an RBI single by Slade Sibenaller and Ty Nissen scoring on a wild pitch.
Sibenaller and Woosley each had 2 of the Tigers 8 hits. Sibenaller and Feldman had a pair of RBI each.

Kuemper stayed within striking distance until Blake Hall left the game with 2 outs in the top of the 6th and then the Knights bats unloaded on Underwood pitching scoring 6-runs in the 6th inning to pick up the win. Kuemper trailed 4-3 when Hall left with nobody on and two outs and Austin Tigges who had pitched well himself stepping to the plate. Tigges doubled to start the rally as Kuemper sent 12 batters to the plate in the 6th and had six of their nine hits. Following the Tigges double Cal Wanninger singled to right field to score Michael Pottebaum who was running for Tigges. Kyle Feauto then completely shifted momentum to Kuemper as he hit a shot that just kept going until it cleared the center field fence and Kuemper took their first lead at 6-4. They weren’t done yet Trevor Rial walked, Luke Hicks singled. Truman Haukap singled, Kyle Berg walked and Blake Pottebaum picked up his 3rd RBI of the night with a single.
Tigges pitched the 6th and Underwood threatened with runners on 2nd and 3rd but didn’t score and then Pottebaum came in to close it out in the 7th. The win moves Kuemper into Saturday night District Final against Missouri Valley.
Underwood struck 1st scoring a run in the 1st and another in the 3rd to lead 2-0. Kuemper answered in the top of the 4th when Pottebaum singled scoring Haukap and Berg. Underwood answered with a two run bottom of the 4th and held the lead until the 6th. Trevor Rial reached on an error in the 5th and scored on a single by Haukap to make it 4-3.
Haukap, Pottebaum and Wanninger had two hits each. Kuemper out hit Underwood 9-6.

The Raiders suffered a tough loss on Tuesday as the offense got going a little too late. The Raiders didn’t get their first hit until the 3rd inning and trailed 4-0 heading into the 4th. East Sac scored a run in the 4th and then looked to get back in the game with a 3-run 6th making it 6-4. Quintin Ludwig singled to start the bottom of the 7th and scoring on a RBI by Preston Mauer who moved to 2nd on a passed ball but the Raiders couldn’t capitalize and the game ended on a ground ball to the shortstop.
East Sac finished with 8 hits while Missouri Valley had 7 but the Big Reds did a nice job of manufacturing runs. Sterling Rodman pitched the final 4 innings and allowed just 4 hits and 2 runs while striking out 5. Caleb Villhauer and Preston Mauer each had 3 hits and Mauer added 3 RBI. Camden Villhauer had the other Raider RBI.
Josh Wernimont led off the 6th with a walk before Mauer drove him in. Rodman walked and Maxwel Jessen reached on a fielder’s choice and then Camden Villhauer singled to score Mauer and Villhauer then scored on a single by Caleb Villhauer.
The loss end the Raiders season at 6-7.

Jackson Jensen threw a no-hitter through 6 innings and Joel Klocke finished it off but Boyer Valley scored a pair of unearned runs in the 2nd inning and made it hold up as they upended the Wheelers 2-1. Jensen struck out 13, walked 2 and hit 1. As good as the pitching was for the Wheelers they couldn’t get any offense going. The Wheelers had just 3 hits with Braden Wessel and Derek Porsch doubling and Ethan Klocke hit a solo home run in the 7th.
The loss end the Wheelers season at 10-8.

The game in Coon Rapids was a battle of two good teams and LoMa was able to take advantage of a few more situations building a 6-2 lead in the 6th inning and then getting out of a bases loaded no outs jam in the 7th with only allowing 2-runs to score. The Crusaders fought hard all game a long and held a brief 2-1 lead after the 3rd inning. Quentin Culbertson singled scoring Josh Ramirez. LoMa took the lead back in the 5th with a pair of runs before scoring 3 insurance runs in the 6th.
LoMa out hit Coon Rapids Bayard 9-8 but it may have been the bottom of the 5th that was the difference in the game. Coon Rapids Bayard loaded the bases with no outs and didn’t score. LoMa made a pitching change and got a pair of strikeouts and a pop up on the infield to end the threat. They answered that with 3-runs in the top 6th.
Kade Schlepp had a pair of hits to lead the Crusaders and Quentin Culbertson had 2 RBI. The loss ends the Crusaders season at 13-5.
