The City of Carroll is implementing additional safety protocols following the announcement that a critical services employee tested positive for COVID-19. City Manager, Mike Pogge-Weaver, said in a press release they were notified of the positive test result Sunday, July 19, but due to planned time away, that employee had not been working since Friday, July 10. Pogge-Weaver adds that in an effort to help protect the identity of that employee, they will not be releasing any information about the department impacted. All others who have worked in close proximity with the employee are being tested. In addition to the measures implemented this past March that include enhanced cleaning and a split workforce rotation in specific critical departments, they are now enacting additional measures. Beginning tomorrow (Tuesday, July 21) all members of the public will be required to wear a face mask when visiting Carroll City Hall, the police department lobby and the Carroll Public Library. In addition, all city staff will be required to wear a mask when social distancing within the facilities is not possible. Many of the city’s services can be accessed by the public remotely. For those that are unable to wear a mask or who do not have access to a mask, curbside service is available. A link to the safety measures can be found at www.cityofcarroll.com/covid19. Anyone with questions or who is going to request curbside service should call ahead to 792-1000.
