A backlog of COVID-19 test result reporting occurred over the past weekend across the state, leaving public health officials with the task of conducting updates first thing Monday morning. Since last Thursday’s reporting, the positive COVID-19 case counts in Carroll County rose by seven to reach 132 by early this (Monday) morning. Of these, 113 have been classified as recovered and Carroll County remains at one recorded death. In the region, Crawford County is reporting a total of 688 positive cases with 645 recovered and three deaths, Guthrie is now in the triple digits with 103 positives, 62 recovered and five deaths. Sac has 73 with 60 recovered and no recorded deaths, Calhoun 68 with 56 recovered and two deaths, Greene 37 with 29 recovered and no reported deaths and Audubon rose to 21 but data on the number of recovered and death totals was unavailable. Statewide positive counts are at 38,917 with 793 coronavirus-related deaths and 27,972 cases considered recovered. Statewide, the age demographic of the majority of positive cases is 18 to 40 year olds, representing 49 percent. In Carroll County, that age group has a recorded 36 percent of all positive cases since recording began with the 41 to 60 year olds at 29 percent.
