Dupaco Community Credit Union And Carroll Chamber Of Commerce Celebrate New Learning Lab Branch With Ribbon Cutting Thursday

The Carroll Chamber of Commerce and Dupaco Community Credit Union hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony Thursday afternoon at their new Learning Lab location in Carroll. Construction on the facility in the 500 block of U.S. Highway 30 got underway in spring of 2019 with staff members transitioning into their new offices near the beginning of the year. The two-story, 6,211 square foot building does not have the traditional financial institution appearance, and according to Dupaco President and CEO, Joe Hearn, that is entirely intentional. The Learning Lab concept encourages and facilitates members’ financial learning and growth through outreach programs, hands-on demonstrations, technology integration and much more. One of the most noticeable differences for members is the addition of interactive video tellers. Assistant Vice President and Carroll Branch Manager, Kathy Steffes, says, “Video tellers will give members more access to Dupaco branch employees in order to have deeper conversations about money, products, and services. We also expect the video tellers to increase future opportunities for member convenience—to serve more members, in more places, with expanded hours of service.” Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the ribbon cutting was held outdoors and with a limited number of guests, However, the branch indicated they do plan to host a more public reception when circumstances allow.
