On the road to a September referendum vote, the City of Carroll and staff at the Carroll Recreation Center continue to urge residents to become fully informed by attending facility tours. They are opening the doors to the public at 9 a.m. this (Monday) morning to allow people the opportunity to compare the current layout with the proposed $13.38 million renovations and addition. Other upcoming tours include: Tuesday, Aug 4 at 11 a.m.; Friday, Aug. 7 at 9 a.m.; Tuesday, Aug. 11 at 5:30 p.m. and Thursday, Aug. 13 at 5:30 p.m. Those who are not comfortable touring in a group can contact the Rec Center at 792-5400 to schedule a personal tour with a staff member. They will also accommodate requests from groups and organizations. The city has developed a special web page to provide more details about the proposed project, a breakdown of costs and the impact to Carroll property taxes.
