Glen Henry “Stoney” Neumayer, age 92, of Carroll passed away on Saturday, August 1, 2020 at his residence surrounded by his family.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 A.M. on Thursday, August 6, 2020 at St. John Paul II Parish – Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Carroll with Fr. Kevin Richter as Celebrant. Music for the Mass will be by Jane Heithoff and Michelle Phillips. Lector for the Mass will be Tim Neumayer. Eucharistic Minister will be Joni Badding. Casket bearers will be Stoney’s sons: Ron Neumayer, Randy Neumayer, Tim Neumayer, Mark Neumayer, Bob Neumayer, and Scott Neumayer. Burial will be in St. Bernard’s Cemetery in Breda.
Friends may call at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll after 5:00 P.M. on Wednesday where there will be a Christian Wake Service at 6:30 P.M.
There will be no visitation prior to the Mass at the church. Those in attendance at the funeral home and Mass are asked to abide by Covid – 19 social distancing guidelines. Masks are recommended at the funeral home and are required at the church.

Glen was born on March 1, 1928 in Breda, IA, and was the son of Albert and Julia (Bernholtz) Neumayer. He grew up in Breda and graduated from St. Bernard’s high school. He was married to Ila Mae Determan on October 29, 1946 at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Breda. The couple made their home in Breda where they raised their eleven children. Stoney worked at the Determan Locker for several years before starting Neumayer Grocery Store and Locker. He was a member of the Breda Volunteer Fire Department serving as chief for several years. He was also a member of the Carroll Elk’s Lodge, Foresters, Moose Lodge, and the Carroll Country Club. Stoney was married to Bonnie Ortner on March 27, 1997 in Carroll, IA. While living in Breda, Stoney was a member of St. Bernard’s Parish and after moving to Carroll belonged to Holy Spirit Parish. Stoney enjoyed golfing, playing cards, hunting, fishing, and having a few drinks with his family and friends.
Stoney is survived by his wife Bonnie of Carroll; his children and their families: Ron Neumayer (Bev) of Lincoln, NE, Randy Neumayer (Karen) of Lincoln, NE, Deanne Dentlinger (Dave) of Arcadia, IA, Tim Neumayer (Deb) of Naperville, IL, Kristy Schaefer of Omaha, NE, Vickie Warnke (Randy) of Carroll, Cindy Schweers (Rich) of Arcadia, IA, Geri Wieneke (Larry) of Omaha, NE, Mark Neumayer (Sharon) of Omaha, NE, Bob Neumayer (Laurie) of Omaha, NE, and Scott Neumayer (Lisa) of Johnston, IA; his step-children: Kevin Ortner (Cindi Owens) of Dublin, OH, Tim Ortner (Nancy) of Everett, WA, Lori Macy (Burt Sly) of Des Moines, and Kristi Hugen (Eric) of Monroe, IA; 27 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren, great great-grandchildren, and other extended family members.
Stoney was preceded in death by his parents Albert and Julia Neumayer; his wife Ila Mae Neumayer; a sister Dorothy Bohnenkamp (Myron); four brothers: Herb (Velma), Roland “Pork” (Elaine), Kenny (Mary), and Jerry (Phyllis Mae); his son-in-law Mike Schaefer; his granddaughter Nikki Schafer; his step-son Mike Ortner; a great-granddaughter Isla Warnke; and many other relatives and good friends.
