Carroll Woman Charged With Criminal Mischief, Trespassing And Public Intoxication Following Early Monday Morning Incident At Fairview Apartments

A Carroll woman was taken into custody early yesterday (Monday) morning following an incident that began with a 911 hang-up call. At approximately 2:41 a.m., the Carroll Police Department was dispatched to the 500 block of East 18th Street in response to a call to the Carroll Communications Center requesting officers immediately. Upon arrival, law enforcement located 26-year-old Nyra Nashay Thompson walking away from the scene. An initial investigation revealed Thompson had threatened the occupants of one of the apartments and kicked at the front door, damaging the frame. Authorities say Thompson was showing signs of intoxication, including bloodshot, watery eyes and smelled of alcohol. She refused to consent to a preliminary breath test and was taken into custody. Thompson is charged with first-offense trespass, first-offense public intoxication and fifth-degree criminal mischief, all simple misdemeanors.
