Formal Charges Filed Against Bayard Man Accused Of Stealing Vehicle From Carroll Auto Salvage Lot

Trial information was filed earlier this week in Carroll County District Court against a Bayard man accused of taking a vehicle from a Carroll auto salvage yard. According to court records, 28-year-old Trask Allen Anderson is charged with one count of operating a motor vehicle without owner consent, an aggravated misdemeanor. Anderson was taken into custody by the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office on July 21 following an investigation into an incident the day prior at Quandt Auto Salvage. Authorities say an employee was leaving for lunch and realized his 1999 Chevrolet Tahoe was no longer in the parking lot. Law enforcement was able to track the vehicle to Anderson, who was arrested at the victim’s home after returning the SUV. His arraignment hearing has been scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 13. An aggravated misdemeanor carries a maximum penalty of up to two years in prison and $6,250 in fines.
