The Iowa Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is seeking the public’s help in identifying a watercraft involved in a hit-and-run incident on West Lake Okoboji Tuesday, Aug. 4. At approximately 10:35 p.m. near Manhattan Point, a boat traveling northbound hit another boat from behind, injuring the operator, 52-year-old Vaughn Wickman of Spirit Lake. The boat that caused the accident then fled the scene. As the investigation continues, the DNR is asking anyone who may have seen the incident occur, has other knowledge or who has seen a boat with front end damage or scrape marks to contact DNR Conservation Officer Steve Reighard immediately.
