The Carroll Recreation Center is opening their doors for more tours, inviting residents to view the current facility as well as the plans for the estimated $13.38 million in additions and renovations. Carroll taxpayers will have their voice heard in a Sept. 8 referendum vote that has the cost of the Rec Center project divided between General Obligation (GO) and Local Option Sales Tax (L.O.S.T.) bonds. Rec Center staff will be able to answer questions during these informational tours, with two scheduled this week and then one each day at the end of the month. The first is at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 11 and then at 5:30 p.m. again on Thursday, Aug. 13. Beginning on Monday Aug. 24 and running through Friday, Aug. 28, a tour will be held each morning at 9 a.m. For those not comfortable with joining in the group tours, they may schedule a private one by contacting the Rec Center at 792-5400. Those who have a group or organization interested in a private tour may also line that up by calling the Rec Center directly.
